General description

The product is a thiolated carboxylic polyethene. 4α; -sulfanyl-ω carboxy PEG (HS-PEG-COOH) heterobifunctional PEGs with functional end groups of very different reactivity. HS-PEG-COOH inhibits nonspecific binding to living cells.


HS-PEG-COOH can be attached to the end of the gold nanoparticle during the fabrication of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) nanoparticles conjugated to epidermal growth factor (EGF). HS-PEG-COOH was coated on silicon photonic biosensor chips on an insulator. Quantum dots (QD) / virus-like particles (VLP) could only be obtained from QD coated with HS-PEG-COOH. It can be used to stabilize nanoparticles and prevent their aggregation.

Applications may include bioconjugation, drug delivery, PEG hydrogel, crosslinking, and surface functionalization.
